Now I've taken the plunge and given a good home to a nice little S-type Electric Guitar. Out of the box it came and I am now in the world of the novice player. My first thought was to look for some books on the subject, sadly my findings are that there are not too many books aimed at the novice player in general bookshops, next stop music shops. In the meantime I gave the internet a go, well all I can say is its a minefield out there. Countless sites all offering different stuff, some are very informative and some where to be honest next to useless. The main problem with some sites is that they come across as very patronising. A good one I did find is: www.guitarbitz.com& Not forgetting www.dbcreations.pwp.blueyonder.co.ukHad a little bit of a fiddle, but to be honest without having any instruction to date I wouldn't advise this to anyone. Get to know your way around the guitar first is my advice. Ask around and get a basic knowledge of what things are and what they do, after all if you don't ask you will never no. Don't be afraid to contact websites, most will be only too happy to answer questions that you may have. Most important is, don't expect too much too soon
